the Little Punch

i got a bad one to the stomach,
all winded,
i came up

---gasping.

and i took one,
here,
in the centre of
my breast bone.

(sometimes i
still
touch it
lightly,
quietly,

while no
one's looking.)

to critique my own words:
for a poem about a punch, and the effect of a punch, this poem lacks punch and tenderness equally.

in fact, this comment would make a better poem.
